Master Thesis: Regional Sustainability Ventures
Theses |
New ventures play a key role in transforming our world towards business practices that sustain the natural environment. For many of these ventures, the concept of regionality plays a key role – they source resources and produce locally while serving regional markets. For example, some ventures produce food or beverages from locally grown organic vegetables and fruits and sell these products through local markets and shops. The advantage of this approach is not only that it supports sustainable agricultural practices (supply-side sustainability), but also that energy intensive transportation beyond local markets is minimized (demand-side sustainability).
