Talk by Alexander Liegl in TIM Advanced Lecture on 17th December

Alexander Liegl, CEO and co-founder of Layer1, will give a talk in our TIM Advanced lecture on 17th December (3pm in room 0540).

A short bio

Alexander Liegl is the CEO and co-founder of Layer1. Born and raised in Munich, Germany, Alexander completed a bachelor's degree in mathematics and philosophy from Stanford University. During his sophomore year, he founded Bessel Capital, a quantitative hedge fund for volatility derivatives with financial backing from institutional investors.

About his company

Layer1 is the first US-based, vertically-integrated Bitcoin mining startup. Layer1 has just completed a $ 50M Series A round of financing with a $ 200M rating. Investors include, among others, Peter Thiel and Shasta Ventures. Layer1 is headquartered in San Francisco, with additional offices or research and development centers in Nevada, Texas, Switzerland, Russia and China. Layer1 positions itself as the US and world leader in the bitcoin mining industry.
