Mohammed Bendaanane is Ph.D. Candidate at the Chair of Corporate Sustainability at the Technical University of Munich in Germany. His research interests span broadly entrepreneurship and organization theory. He conducts empirical research on energy entrepreneurs in Sub-Saharan Africa to understand how they tackle societal challenges at the intersection of poverty and energy access challenges. While having an eclectic taste for methods, in his PhD he mainly employs qualitative research methods. Mohammed is also interested in quantitative research, specifically, exploring the power of spatial data analysis methods in both entrepreneurship and organizational research.

Prior to joining the chair, Mohammed graduated as an engineer in Geomatics from Hassan II Agronomic Institute (Morocco), then worked in the geospatial industry for a couple of years before moving to England after earning the prestigious UK Chevening Award to study for M.Sc. in Innovation Management & Entrepreneurship. Mohammed was initiated to Entrepreneurship in a study-abroad programme at the Kelley School of Business – Indiana University (USA). He was also an entrepreneur and co-founded Amendy Foods, a social venture based in Morocco
