Esther Salvi accepted to take part in the "Conference on Capitalism and Informality" to be held in the US in April 2023

Congratulations to our Doctoral Candidate, Esther Salvi, for being accepted to take part in the "Conference on Capitalism and Informality" to be held in the US in April 2023. This year the organizers received a record number of applications and had to carry out a highly competitive selection process.

As an emerging and leading scholar in the area of Informal Entrepreneurship, Esther will present one of her working papers on the topic of informality; the paper is co-authored by Daniela Gimenzez-Jimenez, from the Technical University of Dortmund, & Diana Hechavarria from Texas Tech University. The conference will be held on the 14th and 15th April 2023 in Athens, Ohio.

This conference will examine the persistence of informal economies and their relationship with economic transformation. It will explore how informal economies have developed complex organizational structures, have co-evolved in tandem with new industries and modes of production, and have shaped the broader economic and social contexts in which they are embedded.
