Dr. Philipp Pfingstag, who got his doctoral degree at the chair for Technology and Information Management, published a paper together with Aditya Kunjapur and Neil Thompson (both MIT) in Nature Communications. The paper, titled "Gene synthesis allows biologists to source genes from farther away in the tree of life" introduces a "bioinformatics technique for determining whether a gene is natural or synthetic based solely on nucleotide sequence".
