Jan Moellmann pursues the doctorate at the Chair of Corporate Sustainability to gain expertise in the field of sustainable entrepreneurship generally and sustainability performance measurement in sustainable ventures more specifically.
If we want to transition markets, society and the environment into a more sustainable future, we need to be able to distinguish credible, positive impact-generating ventures from those which might intend to be (perceived as) sustainable, but actually do harm planet and/or people. Thus, sustainability performance measurement is needed for pushing forward sustainable development
As an external PhD student, he is simultaneously working at the sustainable start up Africa GreenTec as a director for finance. This gives him a unique access to researching a sustainable venture in-depth as well as into the sustainable entrepreneurship sector in Germany at large.
Current projects:
The role of stakeholder expectations in sustainability performance measurement in sustainable ventures: a) single case study at Africa GreenTec; b) longitudinal multiple case study
