Living Sustainable Consumption – Unleashing the Creativity Potential of Your Students

As a fresh post-doc with Frank-Martin Belz, I had the opportunity to teach this year’s Sustainable Consumption Seminar to Students on the Master’s Programme in Consumer Affairs at the Technische Universität München. The course puts consumer behaviour in the context of sustainability, by defining sustainable consumption, showing barriers and drivers of sustainable consumption, exemplifying sustainable consumption patterns and consumer lifestyles, and discussing policy instruments. Finally, sustainable consumption is analyzed in key product contexts. A strong emphasis is put on critical discussion of concepts based on assigned readings and individual literature research.
