Following our large-scale European research project EUInnovatE, we are now offering new courses for master's students. Starting in the upcoming summer term, there is going to be a course on Sustainable Entrepreneurship Theory and a course on Sustainable Entrepreneurship Practice every semester, according to the following schedule:
Summer term: SE Theory in Munich, SE Practice in Freising
Winter term: SE Theory in Freising, SE Practice in Munich
We designed these modules to introduce students to the different aspects of sustainable entrepreneurship. Thereby, the courses in Freising additionally aim to link management and life sciences as part of the new Center for Life Sciences and Management (CLSM).
Sustainable Entrepreneurship Theory: In this course we will investigate the theory and empirical evidence of sustainable entrepreneurship. We start with the definition of sustainable entrepreneurship, and differentiate it from related concepts. Furthermore, we discuss the process of sustainable entrepreneurship, exploring sustainable opportunity recognition, development and exploitation.
The syllabus to the course can be found here.
Sustainable Entrepreneurship Practice: In this master course we want to invite and inspire students to make a difference. We introduce them to the theory and practice of sustainable entrepreneurship, pursuing the triple bottom line of economic, ecological and social goals. We present the sustainable business model canvas as a tool for the students to explore their own ideas and to develop a sustainable business in the area of life sciences. A special feature of the master's course is the co-teaching by an academic and a practitioner with a mutual interest in the theory and practice of sustainable entrepreneurship.
