The Chair of Corporate and Intellectual Property Law will be hosting a moderated business etiquette dinner at "Adina Hotel" in Munich on January 22, 2025 following the “How to behave at work” seminar. Students are taught modern manners and table etiquette by a professional coach. Applications must be submitted by January 6, 2025 - the number of places is limited. LL.M.-Program at the Stetson Law School
On 12.11.24 at 5 pm there will be an information event on an LL.M.-Program of the Stetson Law School in Florida in cooperation with the TUM at our chairs library (room 1355). Stetson Law School is one of the few institutions in the world that awards a law degree to business graduates, offering the unique opportunity to pursue an interdisciplinary education between law and business studies and even obtain a degree. In the week of 9 September, a part of the chair took part in the Doctoral Summer Academy of the TUM School of Management at the Bildungscampus Heilbronn. Professor Ann gave a lecture entitled ‘Technology protection for Doctoral Candidates’.

On June 14, the “Conference on Patent Quality” will take place as part of the IPQC at 1 p.m. in Stegen am Ammersee, where Professor Ann will also give a speech. Here, the very practice-relevant topic of patent quality will be examined by both practitioners and scientists and the quality output of the EPO will be critically scrutinized. On 18.01.2024, Dr. Mathias Fromberger was given his farewell after more than 12 years with the Chair. The entire Chair wishes him all the best in his future work as a lawyer in his own law firm, pikepartners.

In a national campaign week, the Association of German Patent Information Centers (Arbeitsgemeinschaft Deutscher Patentinformationszentren e.V. - PIZnet) is offering free advice on dealing with industrial property rights. From 18 to 24 September 2023, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), start-ups and founding teams will learn how they can use patents, utility models, trademarks, designs and copyrights economically for themselves. The orientation consultations (no legal advice) will occur at 16 German patent information centers. The concept of the action week was developed by the German Patent and Trademark Office (DPMA) together with PIZnet and has already taken place in the past six years with great resonance. On 23 June 2023, the Munich International Patent Law Conference 2023 took place as a hybrid event. More than 100 participants from 25 countries attended - either online or on site at the Groundlift Studios at the Ammersee. The conference is organized by the Chair of Business Law and Intellectual Property of Professor Dr. Christoph Ann, LL.M. and by the Friends of IP at TUM with the kind support of the European Patent Academy of the EPO, the TUM School of Management, the Bavarian State Ministry of Justice and the Munich Regional Court I. On 1 February 2022, the Bavarian Council of Ministers appointed Professor Ann as a member of the Ethics Council of the Bavarian State Government. The Bavarian Ethics Council advises the Prime Minister and the entire state government on issues concerning the future of our society. It has existed since 2020, has 18 members with equal gender representation, and works independently and on an honorary basis.

Happy to start the new year 2022 with something homemade: my patent law treatise’s 8th ed: 3ys of work, 1,100 pp, 1,488 gr on German and European Patent Law.
Thanks to publisher C. H. Beck and to Prof. Lena Maute, who took over two important chapters of the book’s 44 paragraphs.
