Project Studies and Interdisciplinary Projects for Informatics (IDP)

Project Studies

The goal of project studies (for management students) is to gain project management experience by working on a specific topic related to a research-oriented or practice-oriented project. Project studies must be completed in a team of 2-5 students.

To apply for a project study as a student, please contact the company directly and always attach your CV and transcript of record (please send all documents in one PDF). Should you already have an agreement with a company, please send us all documents, including a description of the project, CV, and transcript. We do not consider incomplete applications/requests.

Please note that the ERI is only responsible for the supervision and assessment of project studies conducted at our institute. All other questions, e.g., regarding study programs, ECTS, or projects conducted at other chairs should be addressed to the respective chairs or the School of Management Examination Office.

Please see the file below for more information on the project structure and requirements.

Interdisciplinary Projects for Informatics (IDP)

IDPs (for informatics students) consist of a theoretical part (learning about management techniques) and a practical part (implementing informatics skills). Our institue supervises projects for the practical part of the IDP. IDPs can be completed alone or in a team of 2-5 students.

To apply for an IDP as a student, please contact the company directly and always attach your CV and transcript of record (please send all documents in one PDF). Should you already have an agreement with a company, please send us all documents, including a description of the project, CV, and transcript. We do not consider incomplete applications/requests.

Information for companies offering IDPs or Project Studies

If you would like to offer a project, please send an e-mail to the contacts below. Attached to your mail, please send us your project listing (PDF, 1- max. 2 pages), including a short description of your company, the project tasks and goals, and requirements for students, e.g. English or German language proficiency. If supervision in English is an option, this document must be in English. We will then try to find a suitable supervisor for your project. Only once a supervisor has been found can we upload your listing to our website.

Please note that we have limited capacity for supervision. We therefore 1) can not guarantee supervision for every request and will only be able to advertise one project (either a Project Study or an IDP) on our website at a time and 2) focus our supervision capacity on start-ups and young companies requiring support.

For more information, please see the respective documents above.
