TransforM - The Munich Center for Transformative Technologies and Societal Change is an
interdisciplinary social science Cluster of Excellence, funded by the German Research Foundation
(DFG) as part of the Excellence Strategy. TransforM faces the dual challenge of advancing
basic social science research and rethinking technology development through social science
perspectives. Our goal is to further develop existing theories and methods and build new
infrastructures to better understand transformative technologies and shape them in a socially
responsible way.
Your Tasks
• Establish and strategically develop the Cluster of Excellence in coordination with the Cluster Coordinators (Prof. Sebastian Pfotenhauer, Prof. Hanna Hottenrott, Prof. Holger Patzelt) and relevant bodies, such as the Cluster Steering Committee
• Operational management of the Cluster Management Office for the implementation of day-to-day business as well as the establishment and further development of administrative cluster structures, including personnel responsibility and strategic leadership of the CMO strategy team
• Responsible for financial planning, budgeting, fund allocation and usage, financial reporting, resource and personnel management, controlling, and preparation of reports, applications, and strategic concepts for the further development of the cluster
• Provide high-level monitoring and strategic coordination of the various stakeholders with regard to the success of the cluster strategy and to support the work of cluster actors
• Networking and stakeholder management, supported by a team
• Develop strategies and storytelling for communication, public relations, and media engagement, supported by a team
• Conceptualize and plan larger events and activities, supported by a team
• Content and strategic preparation of the next funding phase
